Partner with micro-influencers to promote your brand

As a gym owner, you're always looking for new ways to market your club and bring in new members. One way to do this is by partnering with micro-influencers.

Micro-influencers are people with a smaller, but highly engaged following on social media. They typically specialise in a particular niche or industry, which makes them perfect partners for promoting your gym.

There are a few things to keep in mind when partnering with micro-influencers:

1. Make sure they align with your brand. Their followers should be interested in what your gym has to offer. For example, if you are a luxurious health club you should be looking for someone who is likely to have followers with a higher disposable income and willing to pay a premium for a membership. In contrast, if you are an independent gym with a lot of hard-core gym clients who like to lift weights, you might seek a body builder as one of your micro-influencers.

2. Partner with multiple micro-influencers. This will help you reach a wider audience and increase the chances that someone will see your promotion and join your gym. It’s a numbers game and you might need to reach out to a good number of people before finding the ones that suit your business.

3. Provide them with content that their followers will find valuable. This could be discounts, behind-the-scenes content, or anything else that would appeal to their followers. In some cases it could work better for the influencer to create the content for you. If you provide them with a brief and guidelines this can be a great option to tap into their creativity. It is prudent to have any content approved by one of your team members until you are confident that the influencer is sending the right message. They are essentially one of your brand ambassadors so anything they do will have a direct impact on how your members and prospects perceive your club.

By partnering with micro-influencers, you can tap into a new audience and promote your gym in a more effective way.

In terms of compensation, there are various ways to pay your micro-influencers. Some businesses will pay micro-influencers a fee for every piece of content they publish, and others will pay them a monthly retainer. We also know some gyms who don’t pay their micro-influencers in cash but instead they pay with a free gym membership. It comes down to the individual, the number of followers they have and your negotiation skills.
